New Lawn Installation

We install new lawns using high-quality BC grown sod

We Specialize In New Lawn Installations

A healthy lawn on Vancouver Island starts long before the sod goes down. At Victoria Interlock, we specialize in new lawn installations using locally grown BC sod, selected and installed to suit our climate, soil conditions, and how the space will actually be used.

In our experience, most lawn problems come from poor preparation, not poor grass. That’s why we focus on proper grading, soil preparation, and drainage before any sod is installed. We typically work with perennial rye and fescue sod, which perform well in Greater Victoria’s mild, coastal climate. Several quality grades are available, and we’ll help you choose the right option based on appearance, durability, and budget.

Whether you’re finishing a new construction project, replacing a lawn that never took properly, or starting fresh after years of compaction or drainage issues, we build lawns designed to establish quickly and stay healthy. When needed, we can also coordinate irrigation planning to ensure your new lawn gets the right amount of water without waste.

From preparation to installation, our goal is a lawn that looks good, feels good underfoot, and holds up over time in Island conditions.

Our Lawn Installation Process

In our experience, a great lawn comes down to preparation and timing. We follow a straightforward process that gives your new sod the best chance to establish quickly and stay healthy in Vancouver Island conditions.

Our lawn installation process includes:

    • Grading and soil preparation to promote proper drainage and create a smooth, stable base
    • Locally grown BC sod, typically perennial rye, Kentucky bluegrass, or fescue, with quality options to match your needs and budget
    • Careful sod installation, with tight seams, good soil contact, and proper watering at install
    • Irrigation coordination when needed, to protect your investment and simplify ongoing care
    • Clear aftercare guidance, so you know exactly how to water and maintain your new lawn

By doing the groundwork properly and using sod suited to our climate, we help homeowners achieve lawns that establish faster and look better long-term.

If you’re planning a new lawn in Greater Victoria or the Saanich Peninsula, reach out to Victoria Interlock to book a consultation and discuss the best option for your property.

We cannot guarantee ALL of these varieties will be available at local sod farms.  It's best to check with us so we can let you know what species of sod are currently available through our local suppliers.  We will help you choose the right type of sod for your particular lawn area.
