Pool Landscaping

We Design & Build Stunning Poolside Landscapes

Pool landscaping and poolscaping in Greater Victoria

A pool can be a great feature, but the landscaping around it is what turns it into a space you actually enjoy using. At Victoria Interlock, we specialize in pool landscaping and pool area renovations for homeowners across Greater Victoria and the Saanich Peninsula.

In many cases, the pool is already there, but the surrounding space feels unfinished, dated, or no longer fits how the homeowner wants to use their yard. Sometimes the pool was installed years ago and the landscaping never kept up. Other times, tastes change and the space needs to evolve. That’s where we come in.

We design and build poolside landscapes that feel intentional, comfortable, and built for Island living, using durable materials, low-maintenance plantings, and layouts that work with your property and lifestyle.

Designed around existing pools and real use

Our pool landscaping work is focused on improving and upgrading the areas around an existing pool, not just adding decoration.

In our experience, homeowners usually want to:

    • Update or replace an aging or undersized pool deck
    • Add usable patio space for lounging and entertaining
    • Improve drainage and safety around the pool
    • Increase privacy from neighbours
    • Refresh dated plantings with lower-maintenance options
    • Create shade or structure with pergolas or seating areas

We regularly design pool areas using ICPI-certified paver installations, properly prepared bases, and materials that hold up well around water. For elevation changes, garden edges, or raised planting areas, we use Allan Block retaining wall systems where appropriate for strength and longevity.

Poolside features we commonly design and build

Pool landscaping projects often include a combination of:

    • Paver pool decks and patios
    • Seating areas and lounging zones
    • Privacy screening and hedging
    • Garden beds with climate-adapted plants
    • Shade structures such as pergolas or pavilions
    • Landscape lighting for safety and ambiance
    • Drainage solutions to manage splash-out and runoff

Every design balances safety, comfort, and maintenance, especially important in Vancouver Island’s wet winters and dry summers.

How Much Does Pool Landscaping Cost?

Small Pool Areas

$8000 - $15,000

This would be for a smaller pool and may include surrounding gardens, a small patio, steps or stairs to an above-ground pool  or maybe a simple pergola.

Medium Sized Pool Area

$15,000 - $50,000

This price range could include a pergola or pavilion, a paver pool surround, surrounding gardens, possibly an outdoor grilling station, and more.

Luxury Pool Area

$50,000 - $150,000+

This would be for a larger project including large paver pool deck, outdoor seating or lounge area, pergola or pavilion, and an outdoor kitchen.

Certified, experienced, and accountable

Victoria Interlock is fully licensed and insured, an A rated BBB accredited business, an ICPI certified paver installer, and a certified Allen Block contractor. Those credentials matter around pools, where proper base prep, drainage, and slip-resistant surfaces are critical.

We design and build pool landscapes that aren’t just visually appealing, but properly constructed from the ground up.

Already have a pool, or planning one?

This page focuses on landscaping around existing pools. If you’re planning a new fiberglass in-ground pool installation, we offer that as well and cover it in detail on our pool installation page. The two services are often connected, and we’re happy to help you plan both together or in phases.

If your pool area feels unfinished, outdated, or no longer fits how you want to use your yard, Victoria Interlock can help transform it into a space that feels cohesive, functional, and built for life on Southern Vancouver Island.
